Product Candidate Description

This molecule has been well studied by Beech Tree personnel as well as with investigators in a cooperative research project. It is an oral agent which gives rapid relief without loss of bowel control.

Laboratory Status

Lab animal models have been employed to evaluate this product candidate. Continued and expanded efforts are required to fully define the mechanism(s) of action.

Clinical Status

This disorder is of major significance in the elderly, those in long term care facilities, wheelchair-bound patients, and those with a sedentary life style. Anecdotal clinical experience with dozens of patients has shown this product to be safe and efficacious even in patients suffering for four decades and more.

This is a prime candidate for an immediate IND application.
